Habitat in Harmony Community Garden

Habitat in Harmony Community Garden

Opening hours:

Monday – Friday, 8am – 2pm.

Habitat in Harmony is a community run, Permaculture garden located at Belmont Neighbourhood Centre. People of all ages are welcome to come and visit the garden, and join us in growing fresh organic produce. The Community Garden is here for you to enjoy!

We hold regular garden workshops and classes on a whole range of different topics! We can show you how to make the perfect compost, how to grow plants from seed, right through how to make delicious homemade pickles and preserves! At the garden we are all about encouraging community development and bringing people together. Come in and meet some new friends and help us keep the garden beautiful.

We use a whole host of sustainable land and water management strategies to minimize the impact on the environment, and a third of the space of the garden is a native habitat to support indigenous animals, plants and protect delicate ecologies. We are connected to the community and are constantly developing partnerships with community groups, businesses and schools.

We make beautiful compost for sale!
$6 per bag, or three bags for $15 (for members)

It is an excellent soil conditioner, adding nutrients and organic matter to your garden beds, which is great for growing vegetables and herbs.
We will put it in bags for you, but we ask that you bring them back to us so that we can use them again.

We grow veggies!!!

We have a lot of visitors, so keeping up with demand is sometimes tricky. We do our best to have fresh greens available at all times of the year. We try and share our produce with as many people as possible, so we ask that our visitors only take a bit-of-this and a bit-of-that, ensuring that there is plenty for others.

We socialize!
Our garden is an extension of the neighbourhood centre and aims to provide a safe, welcoming environment for all.
We run occasional workshops and training, events, lunches and kids activities. For more information on what is coming up at our garden, check our facebook page, or our program.
