APM provides services to employers, government and job seekers which are designed to place people into meaningful employment. As part of the employment process, APM assists with job matching, pre-employment screening/assessment, preparation for work, job placement and post-placement support.

Belmont Supported Playgroup – Thursdays during the school term, from 9am – 12pm.
Autism Spectrum Australia (ASPECT) and the St Vincent de Paul Society’s Ability Links Program are offering a playgroup to engage all children, including those with a developmental delay, disability or additional needs.
The playgroup is an opportunity for parents/carers to connect with each other and learn practical strategies to support their child’s learning and development.
Parents/carers will have the chance to seek free professional advice about their child’s development while their children have lots of fun!
No need to book just bring a hat, a snack and a drink.
Belmont Men's Shed - open Mon - Fri, 9am - 3pm
The Belmont Neighbourhood Centre’s Men’s shed aims to provide a safe, no-pressure environment for men to meet, socialize, and support each other. The Men’s Shed takes on a range of different projects; restoration and repair jobs of every-day items, woodworking and custom-made carpentry. Drop by the shed and have a chat with the men about your job request.
The men make other items such as recycled wooden chopping boards, native bird, bat, and possum boxes, coat racks, fruit bowls and Christmas themed lawn cut-outs.
Beautician - Mondays fortnightly, 10am - 1pm
We have a Beautician visiting us once a fortnight. Leesa has been a dedicated beauty therapist for 30 years working throughout Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. Her services include:
Pedicure – $25 (Leesa is trained in pedicures for people with diabetes)

The Craft, Coffee and Chat group is an informal gathering for women who are interested in having a chat while doing their craft. Cost is $5 for BNC members, or $7 for non-members
You are welcome and encouraged to bring in and work on your own craft projects in a social atmosphere. The kinds of craft projects being done by the group include: knitting, crochet, beading, handmade cards, scrap-booking and more can be taught. If you want to learn a new skill, there will always be someone who can help you.
Tea and coffee is provided, and some materials are available for purchase.

Chauntelle Alydia Dance Academy offers a wide variety of dance styles for all ages!
Styles include Classical Ballet, Tap, Jazz/Funk/Hip Hop, Contemporary, Cheerleading, Singing, Drama, HSC Dance Tuition and Private Lessons.
Miss Chauntelle began dancing at the age of 3 and has loved it ever since. She has been a professional teacher for over 5 years; she completed her Diploma in Dance Teaching majoring in Classical Ballet with the British Ballet Organization finishing with a Distinction. She has also performed on P&O cruise lines, for various live shows, studied HSC Dance for year 11 & 12, competed in various eisteddfods and has been a choreographer for Star Struck.
CentreStage Performing Arts - Wednesday 4pm
Tuition in jazz, tap, ballet and cheer. Fun and friendly atmosphere. Performance opportunities include: local shows, concerts, charity gigs and more.
CentreStage’s aim as a performing arts studio is to provide quality tuition for all students. We cater for those who wish to pursue performance as a career as well as those who enjoy coming to classes just for fun.

Computer Lessons - Mon, Wed, thursday & Fri by appointment
Need to learn how to use a computer? Our fantastic computer tutors provide no-stress, easy to follow computer lessons on our machines, or you can bring in your own laptop or Ipad.
We provide lessons for clients with new devices, ipads, smart phones and tablets as well as using software such as email, facebook Windows 10, internet, excel and much more.
Cost is $5 per hour for BNC members or $7 per hour for non-members.

Habitat in Harmony Community Garden - Mon - Fri, 8am - 2pm.
Habitat in Harmony is the longest running environmental project of the Belmont Neighbourhood Centre. It’s a community run, Permaculture garden located at Belmont Neighbourhood Centre. People of all ages are welcome to come and visit the garden, and join us in growing fresh organic produce. The Community Garden is here for you to enjoy!

Heart Moves gentle exercise
The Heart Foundation runs regular exercise classes here at BNC on Mondays and Thursday mornings.
8am – 9am is the regular class for those wanting to do some gentle exercise in a supportive, relaxed, no-pressure environment.
9am – 10am is the supported class for those with restricted movement or pre-existing medical conditions.
Each lesson is $5 for members, or $7 for non-members

Hunter Region No Interest Loans Scheme (HR NILS) - By Appointment
Hunter Region No Interest Loans Scheme (HRNILS) is a community organisation providing no interest loans to people on a low income throughout the Hunter Region.
Applicants can apply for up to $1200 to purchase essential items; Fridges and other white-goods for example.
To apply you must be classed as a low income earner and have been a resident of Lake Macquarie for 3 months.
Application packs are available from the BNC office, which need to be filled out before an appointment can be made.

Hunter Volunteer Centre - By Appointment
The Hunter Volunteer Centre provides outreach services, here at BNC, every Thursday.
The main aim of Hunter Volunteer Centre (HVC) is to support volunteers and community organisations to increase volunteering opportunities, and ensure that those who give their time and energies to their community gain a positive experience through volunteering.

Legal Aid - Tuesdays, fortnightly, by appointment
Legal aid is a free service for disadvantaged clients needing legal advice. Legal Aid visits BNC once every second tuesday to provide free face-to-face legal advice, and can also offer legal representation, family dispute resolution, free workshops and webinars, free legal information and other specialist services.
Legal Aid deals with most cases of criminal, civil and family law, as well as cases of domestic violence.

Oz Harvest and Community Pantry - free food program - Wednesdays and Fridays at 12pm
In partnership with OzHarvest and local food distributors ADRA, BNC provides a free food service for those who are doing it tough. Each Wednesday, the OzHarvest food truck collects quality excess food from local commercial outlets and delivers it to the centre for us to distribute to the community.
It’s a fun program with lots of helpful volunteers.
BNC also provides crisis support for those who need food urgently – depending on what resources we have available.
Playgroup - Red Robins. Monday 10am $4 per family
Red Robins playgroup is a weekly playgroup here at BNC for local Mums and Dads to get together and support each other. Your kids can play in a safe, supportive environment, with access to lots of toys and imaginative play equipment.
PlayStation Toy Library - Monday - friday, 9am - 3pm
Before you go out and buy your child toys ‘brand new’, consider borrowing from our toy library and save yourself some money.
Toys can be borrowed for up to 2 weeks for a gold coin donation, and once your child gets bored of it, change it for a different one!
You must be a member of the toy library to borrow – $12 per year (includes BNC membership).
Come in and browse the catalogues, anytime between 9am and 3pm, monday to friday.
Reflexology - $25 for members or $40 for non-members.

Tai Chi classes are here every tuesday during the school term.
Join the class to work on improving balance, joint mobility and focus, while enjoying the benfits of regular meditation. Tai Chi teaches us to flow with life’s changes.
University of the Third Age (U3A)
U3A is an international movement the purpose of which is to provide low cost educational activities, in a relaxed environment, for people who are retired or semi-retired.

Weight watchers teaches you how to eat healthy and shed excess weight. You can also learn fabulous, healthy recipes and tips on managing your daily energy intake.
