Community Garden Update – Newly Constructed Fruit Fly exclusion Shade House

The clever volunteers from Habitat in Harmony Community Garden have just installed a tomato enclosure to prevent fruit fly.

The tomato house in our community garden is now complete and is already showing the benefits. The 4 varieties of tomato are flourishing I.e. Roma, ox heart, grosse lisse, and pineapple tomato. Several capsicum plants are also growing in the enclosure. Tomato and capsicum plants are susceptible to fruit fly etc but are protected by this new addition.
This new enclosure will greatly improve the gardens ability to produce fresh food for the community.

Pop in and see what else the gardeners have been up to.

The garden is open Monday-Friday, 8am – 2pm
