Plenty of new programs happening this term:
Mums and Bubs playgroup – This is a new group for first-time mums, or mums with newborns. The aim of the group is for mums to support each other, share tips and information about how to keep your baby healthy and strong. All welcome.
R U OK Day Community Luncheon – Each year we celebrate R U OK Day and take some time to touch base with vulnerable people in our community to protect and enhance mental health. These lunch events are perfect for anyone who sometimes feels a bit socially isolated, lonely or could do with a chat with a friendly face. We aim to make these events as affordable as possible and we have a great volunteer team who never fail to whip up delicious treats! Click on the link to download the full flyer, and call us on 4947 0031 to book your spot
Eco Angel Clean Up – once a year a team of volunteers do a clean up blitz to remove rubbish and illegal dumping in our local native bushland. All are welcome to join us and lend a hand to care for our local environment. We will do an audit to learn about what kinds of litter is most common in our area. Enjoy a free morning tea! All welcome, equipment provided. No need to book, just turn up. Wednesday 14th August 9am—11am
Hunter Homeless Connect Day – This years Hunter Homeless Connect Day looks to be bigger than ever, with lots of community service organisations available support people who are experiencing homelessness or doing it tough. BNC will be attending the day to provide information about the community services available at our centre. Free bus passes to the event are available at reception. BNC is calling for donations for pets – We will be looking to provide material aid to people experiencing homelessness who have pets – cats, dogs, birds, rabbits… the whole lot! Any donations for pets are warmly received – either at reception or in donation boxes in the main hall.
Plenty more programs and information in the new program. Stay tuned to the BNC website, or Facebook for more updates.
